Community should put up a sign that is up all year
telling about the Apple Butter Festival.
Should do the flower barrels downtown. Should borrow the idea of businesses in a
circumscribed area and so well maintained. More publicity for the county as a whole. Should provide better signage to direct people to

Community improvements or results from the First Impressions
Program: |
Renovated the industrial park sign. A meeting scheduled of byway contributors and those
located along the byway with help from the statewide marketing plan to enact
some of the recommendations from First Impressions Program. Greater Awareness. Planning more unified usage of elected officials and
volunteers. Will use the Welcome sign added to local county airport. Paid more attention to removal of weeds in sidewalks
downtown. Signs for CVB put up. Rekindled interest in the byway, value of “the road”
as our major thoroughfare. Realization of the importance of community
appearance. Community self-awareness. Community pride. Revitalization steering committee now more inclined
to look at other communities for ideas. Working together on a project and greater awareness
at what we need to do. Learned importance of visitor spending. Visiting team members wanting to come back for the
local festival. Visiting team members returning to purchase a
vehicle. |
